Now's the best time to adopt an animal from HSVB&IRC. We are sheltering many
beautiful dogs, cats, and other pets who are looking for loving homes. By
adopting from HSVB&IRC, you will provide a home for an animal in need while, at
the same time, discovering the many benefits of having a pet with whom you can
share your life.

The process begins when you select your pet. You can begin by clicking the links found on this page. Or, you can come to our
Adoption Center at 6230 77th Street and get acquainted with your new pet in
person. Remember, if you do begin your search online, you will still need to
visit our Adoption Center to present your adoption application and spend some
time with your pet. (Sorry, we will not "reserve" pets based on a phone call,
email, web forms, or faxed application. You must come to the center in person,
present a qualifying application, and select your pet at that time.)

Adoption Fees pay for Spaying/Neutering and more.
Did you know that approximately 70,000 dogs and cats are born each day in
America? The phenomenal growth of the pet population is a major consideration
facing our communities. Your Humane Society realizes that someone must face the
realities of this growing problem. For this reason, we spay/neuter all adopted
mammals. Also, our adoption fees help to offset the cost of evaluating, housing,
feeding and providing medical care for the thousands of animals that need our
help.
Cat and dog adoption fees range from $50 to $175. We do our best to keep our
adoption prices reasonable. At the same time, we seek to generate income to
partially offset the expense of caring for animals until we can place them in a
loving home. «Click

The adoption fee for each animal varies and is dependent on many factors
including: age, size, behavior, medical condition, and public demand. (Also, we
offer "Patron" adoptions - a way you can make an additional contribution and go
to "the next level" in supporting HSVB&IRC.)
