Fran is home for the holidays
Fran arrived at the Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County nearly a year ago, as a stray in need of help. Despite her rough start, Fran’s loving personality shone through from the very beginning. It didn’t take long for her to capture the hearts of everyone she met—staff, volunteers, and her incredible foster family alike.
Shortly after arriving, Fran was tested positive with heartworm disease, a challenge that could have dampened her spirits. But not Fran! She continued to share her love with everyone, especially children, earning her the nickname “Franny the Nanny” from her foster family. Fran’s remarkable patience and gentle nature made her the perfect companion for kids and babies alike.
During her time at HSVB, Fran proved to be the ideal housemate: fully housetrained, potty trained, and always ready to play with her toys or savor her favorite treats. Her bubbly and affectionate personality even earned her one or maybe two special spotlights on WPTV News, where she charmed the community with her resilience and sweet demeanor.
Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the HSVB clinic, Fran received the treatment she needed to overcome heartworm disease, and she came through stronger than ever. Meanwhile, the staff, volunteers, and her foster family ensured she was comfortable and loved while she awaited her perfect match.
After an incredible 361 days at HSVB, Fran’s moment finally came. She met her new forever family, and it was love at first sight—a true match made in heaven. Fran now enjoys the peace and quiet she deserves in her new home, surrounded by the love she always gave so freely to others.
We are PAWsitively thrilled for Fran and her new family! Her journey is a testament to the power of hope, compassion, and teamwork. A heartfelt thank you to the HSVB staff, volunteers, fosters, and clinic team who made Fran’s happy ending possible. Here’s to Fran’s new chapter filled with joy, snuggles, and endless love!
